V-Hawks Dominate on Senior Night

LA CROSSE, Wis – The Viterbo University Men's Basketball team dominated Judson University on Senior Night 101-71. The V-Hawks rise to 9-17 (7-12 CCAC) while the Eagles sink to 5-22 (2-17 CCAC).

Cole Crubel came out firing with a three in the first possession, followed by Colin Adams with another three for the early lead. The Eagles responded though back to back layups by Adams helped the V-Hawks maintain control. Jack Voigt with back to back layups led VU to Lydell King and Landon Thousand finding each other for threes a possession apart. Viterbo forcing turnovers gave the V-Hawks easy transition baskets to keep a lead.

Viterbo coming out strong, quickly extending the lead with Crubel hitting another three, followed by Adams and Rohde scoring in the paint and hitting key jumpers. Crubel, Braden Crubel, and Carson Koepnick hitting threes pushed the lead to 20. With the young squad on the floor Brayden Bradway would hit the three sending the V-Hawks over 100 with the clock running out.

Adams led the V-Hawks with 19, Crubel and Rohde added with 17 points each. Cee Jay Nwosu and George Bellevue led the Eagles with 16 each.

The V-Hawks outshot the Eagles from the floor 61.7% to 42.6% and from three 55% to 23.5%, while committing less turnovers 13-16.

The V-Hawks return to action Saturday February 22 at Saint Xavier for the last game of the regular season.
