V-Hawks Fall to Fighting Saints in Overtime Thriller
JOLIET, Ill. -- The V-Hawk men's basketball team traveled to Illinois on Wednesday night to face off against the Fighting Saints of St. Francis. The two teams played a hard-fought match, pushing into overtime, where the V-Hawks eventually fell 83-79. The V-Hawks fall to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the CCAC. The Fighting Saints improve to 1-0 overall and in the CCAC.
Offensively, the V-Hawks were led by Landon Thousand. He scored 18 points on the night, and he added eight assists. Thousand went 6-15 from the field and 4-10 from the three. Carson Koepnick added 13 points, while Treyton Fletcher and Jonah Ogunsanya each added 12 points. Defensively, Treyton Fletcher led with five rebounds, a block, and a steal.

- Saints stole the lead back, being cut off by Carson Koepnick.

- The V-Hawks were behind by three points with 1:40 to play.
- A Landon Thousand three-pointer tied the score at 72, forcing the game to OT.
- The Saints took an early three point lead in OT.
- Scoring from Landon Thousand and Braden Crubel returned the lead to the V-Hawks.
