V-Hawks pick up first CCAC victory
LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The V-Hawks hosted the Judson Eagles on Saturday in their fifth CCAC competition of the year. Following 40 minutes of play, the V-Hawks were able to pull off the win, defeating the Eagles by nearly 30 points and picking up their first conference win of the 2025-26 season. The V-Hawks improve to 3-8 overall and 1-4 in the conference while the Eagles fall to 2-9 overall and 0-5 in the conference.
Four V-Hawks earned double-digit scoring on Saturday, led by Colin Adams. Adams picked up 20 points while Braden Crubel and Landon Thousand each added 17 points. Jack Voigt added 10 points as well. Crubel went 5-6 from the three point line, shooting at over 80% on the game from the three. Landon Thousand impressively added 12 assists and eight rebounds to the tally as well as picking up four steals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The V-Hawks jumped to an early start with scoring from Colin Adams and Kole Johnson
- Eight more points from Adams gave the V-Hawks a 12-9 lead early
- Scoring from Landon Thousand and Jack Voigt extended the lead
- A pair of three-pointers from Braden Crubel gave the V-Hawks a 22-16 lead
- Two more threes from Jonah Ogunsanya and Braden Crubel gave the V-Hawks a ten-point lead
- The V-Hawks continued applying pressure to the Eagles, going up 14 points into the half on a last-second Jonah Ogunsanya three
- Out of the half, Treyton Fletcher and Landon Thousand strung together some quick scoring
- A Braden Crubel three-pointer gave the V-Hawks a 20 point lead with 15 minutes remaining
- The Eagles scored seven unanswered points to close the gap
- The V-Hawks responded with seven of their own
- With eight minutes left, Jack Voigt scored on a layup, two free throws, and a massive dunk to extend the lead further
- Jonathan Loomans dropped in a three-pointer with three minutes left
- Jonah Koon added a layup with two minutes left
- The V-Hawks picked up an 87-63 victory
UP NEXT
The V-Hawks will return to action following the winter holidays. The team will travel to Saint Xavier to face off against the Cougars on January 3, 2026. The tip off is set for 3pm.
