V-Hawks Fall to Titans on the Road, led by Adams

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The V-Hawks men traveled east to Indiana South Bend on Wednesday afternoon for another CCAC matchup. After two halves of competition, the V-Hawks fell to the Titans in a hard-fought second half 74-72. Their loss drops them to 3-10 overall and 1-6 in conference competition. The Titans improve to 11-4 overall and 6-1 in CCAC matches. 

Offensively, Colin Adams went off. Adams dropped in 23 points, going 11-17 from the field. Adams also led the team defensively with seven rebounds and picking up the only block of the game for the V-Hawks. Landon Thousand earned double-digit points as well with 13, while Jack Hennessy came in and scored 12 points off the bench for the V-Hawks. Braden Crubel added six rebounds to the V-Hawks effort, and Landon Thousand led the way in assists with seven. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The V-Hawks fell down 10-3 early in the first half
• A three-pointer from Colin Adams brought the deficit down to four points
• A series of points from Landon Thousand and Colin Adams brought the game back within one early
• The Titans put together an 8-0 run, and the V-Hawks found themselves in a 22-13 hole
• Colin Adams put together four straight points to push the deficit back to five 
• The Titans put together another 11-0 run, and Braden Crubel cut it off with five minutes left in the half
• Jack Voigt scored the final points for the V-Hawks in the first half, and the V-Hawks went down 39-26 going into the half
• Treyton Fletcher scored first in the second half, beginning the start of the V-Hawks comeback effort
• Colin Adams and Carson Koepnick combined for five points to bring the game within ten points
• The Titans responded with eight points
• The V-Hawks turned it up with 12 minutes left, putting together a 6-0 run, marked by a Colin Adams dunk
• A three pointer from Landon Thousand brought the V-Hawks within nine with eight minutes left
• More scoring from Colin Adams and Treyton Fletcher kept the game within eight points with five minutes on the clock
• A clutch three-pointer from Jack Hennessy put the V-hawks within six points 
• Landon Thousand brought the team closer, bringing the V-Hawks within five points with a minute and a half left
• Another clutch three from Jack Hennessy put the V-Hawks within two points with 37 seconds left
• The Titans responded, scoring with 16 seconds left
• Colin Adams scored once more, but the V-Hawks fell 74-72 in the final seconds of the game
