V-Hawks fall in hard-fought battle
LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The V-Hawks hit the court once again for some CCAC action on Wednesday night. In their competition, the V-Hawks competed against the RedHawks of Indiana Northwest, eventually falling to the RedHawks 60-55. With the loss, the V-Hawks fall to 5-12 overall and 3-8 in conference competition. The RedHawks improve to 8-11 overall and 6-5 in the conference.
Offensively, the V-Hawks were led by Colin Adams. Adams put up 15 points in their effort. Landon Thousand shined with 13 points for the V-Hawks as well, going 4-8 from the three. Thousand also led the V-Hawks in assists with three. On the defensive side of the ball, the V-Hawks were also led by Colin Adams. Adams was able to grab nine rebounds in their efforts. Treyton Fletcher grabbed six rebounds and two blocks as well for the V-Hawks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The V-Hawks were hot early with a three pointer from Carson Koepnick
- The V-Hawks secured an early 10-5 lead
- The RedHawks fought back to a tie at 16-16 and took the lead at 19-16
- Scoring from Treyton Fletcher, Colin Adams, and Landon Thousand gave the V-Hawks a 23-19 lead
- A pair of Carson Koepnick three pointers gave the V-Hawks a 29-24 lead
- The V-Hawks held their lead into halftime at 33-29
- Out of the half, the RedHawks secured the lead at 37-35
- The V-Hawks fell behind 41-37, but came within two on Colin Adams scoring
- The V-Hawks tied it up at 46-46 on a Landon Thousand three-pointer
- The RedHawks pulled away, going up 50-46
- Treyton Fletcher and Colin Adams responded, tying it back up at 50-50
- Another three pointer from Landon Thousand gave the V-Hawks a 55-52 lead
- The V-Hawks did not score again, and they fell to the RedHawks 60-55

The V-Hawks hit the road on Saturday, heading to Bourbonnais, Illinois to face off against the Tigers of Olivet Nazarene. Tip off is set for 3pm.
