V-Hawks Can't Escape Titans
LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The V-Hawks hosted the Titans of Indiana South Bend on Saturday in R.W. Beggs, Sr. Gymnasium. The two teams competed through forty minutes, and the V-Hawks fell to the Titans 68-52 despite their efforts. With the loss, the V-Hawks move to 6-18 overall and 4-14 in the conference while the Titans improve to 18-8 overall and 13-5 in the CCAC.
Offensively, the V-Hawks were led by Colin Adams. Adams picked up 13 points for the V-hawks on 6-12 shooting. The next closes was Braden Crubel with eight points and Kole Johnson with seven. Defensively, three V-Hawks had five rebounds. Landon Thousand, Colin Adams, and Treyton Fletcher each picked up five. Adams also added a block to the tally.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The V-Hawks went down 6-0 early
- They brought the game back within one on a Jacob Watson jumper
- The V-Hawks remained close for much of the first half
- Braden Crubel tied it up for the V-Hawks at 20-20
- The Titans pulled away with eight unanswered points
- Late scoring by Kole Johnson brought it back a bit
- The V-Hawks were down 34-27 going into the half
- Out of the half, the Titans continued to extend their lead, going up by nine
- A three from Jonah Ogunsanya and two from Colin Adams brought the game within seven
- The V-Hawks continued to fight, but the Titans pulled away, going up 12 with three minutes left
- The V-Hawks picked up late scoring from Ben Jimenez and Noah Treptow, but it wasn't enough
- Viterbo lost 68-52
