V-Hawks Finish Fourth in Conference Competition
ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The V-Hawks headed east this weekend to compete in their third Great Lakes Bowling Conference competition of the season so far. They came home with a fourth place finish out of 21 teams and finished three bowlers in the top-20 from a 189 bowler field.
The day was highlighted by Nathan Arias' 1079 total pin score. He averaged a 215.80 through five games to take 16th place. Dominic Hutter finished in 19th for the V-Hawks with a 1061 and Brayton Fandrich took home 20th place with a 1053. Nathan Beekman finished in 28th for the V-Hawks with a 1005. Lucas Casanta rounded out the scoring with an 836 through four games.
Overall, the team finished with a final score of 5199 and a Baker score of 3196. THey knocked a total of 8395 pins through 41 games to average 204.76.
The V-Hawks also competed a JV team that finished in fifth place in the JV category. The JV team competed against eight others, defeating UW-Platteville, UW-Oshkosh, and UW-Milwaukee. Brandon Kantola led the JV team with a 927 overall, averaging a 185.40 through five games.
