V-Hawks Compete at NAIA Preview, Defeat CCAC Opponents

SILVIS, Ill. -- The V-Hawks competed at the NAIA Preview on Monday and Tuesday against some of the best teams in the nation. They traveled to TPC at Deere Run to face off in a 21-team competition, eventually claiming 15th place. Throughout the two rounds, Eli Lindsey and Ethan Thomas finished best for the V-Hawks, each claiming a 155 score, tying for 34th.

The V-Hawks finished their competition defeating three conference opponents as well. Viterbo finished 12 strokes ahead of Governors State, 63 strokes above Trinity Christian, and 65 strokes ahead of St. Francis. The team's 635 stroke performance put them just two strokes behind conference opponent Saint Xavier and four strokes behind Olivet Nazarene.

HOW IT HAPPENED

On day one, the V-Hawks were led by Ben Biskupski's 79 stroke performance.
Eli Lindsey was shortly behind Biskupski with an 80, adding a birdie for the V-Hawks.
Trevor Hinz added two birdies during his 82 stroke performance, and Ethan Thomas and Aaron Mork each came in with an 83.
The V-Hawks finished day one with a 324, landing in 17th place.
Day two was all about Ethan Thomas' 72 stroke round. He added five birdies throughout 18 holes.
Eli Lindsey wasn't far behind with a 75 stroke day.
Ben Biskupski and Aaron Mork each shot 82 while Trevor Hinz shot an 84.
The V-Hawks improved to a 311 score on day two, moving up two places in the standings.
