V-Hawks Open Season in Decorah

DECORAH, Iowa -- The V-Hawks opened their 2025 cross country season this weekend when they traveled to the Luther All-American Invitational in Decorah. Viterbo had four runners compete and finish at the event, Micah Beise, Connor Martin, Jake Schradle, and Andrew Kaja. The race was a four mile competition against several other institutions. 

Micah Beise had the best time for the V-Hawks, finishing with a 24:38.40 time after the four mile race. Connor Martin came in shortly behind Beise with a time of 24:57.20, narrowly finishing under 25 minutes. Freshman Jake Schradle ran his first career race, finishing in 26:44.60, defeating the runner behind him by over 20 seconds. Andrew Kaja was the final runner to finish for the V-Hawks, running a 28:43.20 race time. 

The V-Hawks did not place in the race. Luther won the competition with a score of 22. 

UP NEXT 

The V-Hawks will travel to Minneapolis on Friday to compete at the Roy Griak Invitational. The event begins at 11:30 am.
