Jordan Skaar enters his first year as the Head Women's Basketball coach at Viterbo in 2025.

“I’m really looking forward to getting to know the players and helping them reach their goals both on and off the court, while also providing them with a great overall experience at Viterbo,” said Skaar.

Skaar comes to Viterbo with a deep knowledge of the sport, and wealth of experience to back it up. Prior to Viterbo, Skaar spent five years as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. There, he coached nine All-Conference selections, two All-Rookie honorees, and one Newcomer of the Year. He also assisted in achieving the sixth best win turnaround in NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball.

Before Saint Mary’s, Skaar coached at Valley City State University as an assistant for three years. There, he made an appearance in the 2018 National Tournament and achieved a Conference Tournament Championship. He also coached two NAIA All-Americans and ten All-Conference recipients during his three-year stay.

A native to the area, Skaar coached in the greater La Crosse area for seven years. For two years, Skaar was a member of the UW-La Crosse coaching staff as an assistant women’s basketball coach. Before that, he coached at Bangor High School as an assistant girls’ basketball coach for five years from 2010-2015.

Skaar graduated from the University of Dubuque in 2009 with a degree in health and wellness recreation. During his schooling, Skaar was a member of the University of Dubuque baseball team as a pitcher. He also was a head baseball coach for two seasons at Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau High School.
