V-Hawks Open Season at River Falls Invitational

RIVER FALLS, Wis. -- The V-Hawk women's golf team traveled to River Falls this weekend to face off against several teams in a two-day invitational. At the end of the weekend, the V-Hawks finished in 12th place, defeating Hawkeye Community College. As a team, the V-Hawks shot a 746, putting them only 10 strokes off from 11th place and 20 off from 10th. On the first day, Viterbo shot a 371 and on the second day, they fell just short with a 375. 

On day one of the competition, the V-Hawks were led by Lillia Rather's 85 stroke performance. Courtney Draeger came in right behind with an 87 while Mattie Albright shot a 98. On day two, the V-Hawks were being led by Courtney Draeger's 90 followed by Rather's 92. Just behind them was Mattie Albright with 96, Rachel Boe with 97, and Haylee Campbell with 110. 

Lillia Rather and Courtney Draeger placed highest for the V-Hawks. They tied for 33rd with a score of 177.

The V-Hawks will compete on September 6 and 7 at the Georgianni BluGold Invitational at Lake Wissota Golf and Events in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
