V-Hawks Fight at Duhawk Fall Invitational, Lillia Rather Leads the Way

DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The V-Hawk women traveled to Dubuque this weekend to compete at the Duhawk Fall Invitational, hosted by Loras College. Over the course of the two-round competition, the V-Hawks played hard, finishing two golfers in the top-25, one of which landed in the top-20.

In their first round, the V-Hawks finished with a 374 stroke performance, landing them in sixth place, 13 strokes behind fifth. On the second day of competition, the V-Hawks improved by over 15 strokes to earn a 358 stroke performance, the fifth-best performance of the second round.

HOW IT HAPPENED

On day 1, Lillia Rather had the best performance for Viterbo, shooting a 90 and claiming a birdie on a 332 yard par four.
Mattie Albright was just behind Rather with a 92, and Rachel Boe followed with a 93.
Elise Tomashek rounded off the V-Hawks on day one with a 99 stroke performance.
On day 2, Rachel Boe and Lillia Rather broke the 90 stroke ceiling. Boe shot an 88 and Rather shot an 89.
Rachel Boe claimed a birdie on a 313 yard par four, and Elise Tomashek added on an a 374 yard par four.
Tomashek brought in a score of 90 on day two and Mattie Albright rounded off with a 91 stroke performance.
All four of the V-Hawk golfers improved their scores on day two.

The V-Hawks will travel to Albert Lea, Minn. on Sunday, September 28 to face off at the Waldorf Fall Invitational. On Monday, September 29, they will compete at the Waldorf Fall Challenge in Lake Mills, Iowa to round off their season.
