An “A” Standard Vault Opens Outdoor Season
SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – The Viterbo University Women's Track and Field team opened their outdoor season at the Saint Louis University Billiken Invite Saturday.
Olivia Wingo led the V-Hawks with an "A" Standard vault of 3.75m clinching first place and a #3 in the NAIA position. In second Emma Johnson would vault a 3.40m and Emily Ludwig would claim third at 3.25m. Wingo also grabbing a second-place finish in the high jump with a height of 1.58m followed by Pearla Teko Folly in fifth at 1.48m.
The V-Hawks 4x100m took second with a time of 48.22 made up of Lillia Chvatal, Wingo, Avery Poppe, and Braylee Hyatt. Chvatal claimed a fifth-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.14m, Teko-Folly also claiming fifth in the triple jump at 10.85m. Also, in the field Brooklyn Ludescher would take fifth in the shot put with a distance of 12.06m.
On the track, Ludwig would grab a pair of seventh place finishes in the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles with time of 15.02 and 1:09.52 respectively. Johnson would claim sixth in the 100m hurdles at 14.99 and Samantha Berndt would place eighth in the 5,000m run with a time of 21:35.80.
The V-Hawks return to the field Saturday April 5th at the Mississippi River Rumble.
