V-Hawks Finish Strong at Titan Invite
OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Viterbo University Women's Track and Field team competed on Saturday afternoon in the UW-Oshkosh Titan Invite.
Olivia Wingo continues to show out with 1st place finishes in both pole vault (4.02m) and high jump (1.61m). Her pole vault mark not only set a new track and school record but also met the NAIA A standard, ranking her #3 in the nation.
Emily Ludwig also had an impressive day, finishing 2nd in both the 100m hurdles (14.54) and the 400m hurdles (1:10.19), and securing 3rd in pole vault (3.35m). She was joined at that height by Emma Johnson, who tied for 5th in pole vault, also placing 5th in the 100m hurdles (15.79).
Avery Poppe placed 6th in the 100m hurdles (15.79) and grabbed 4th in the 400m (1:00.49), while Lainey Teynor followed with a 6th place finish in the 400m (1:02.24). In the 400m hurdles, Madelyn Kassulke and Kendra Czerneski took 5th (1:14.73) and 6th (1:16.18) respectively.
In the sprints, Braylee Hyatt earned 3rd in the 100m (12.36) and 6th in the 200m (26.33), while Kaylee McLeod and Lillia Chvatal followed closely behind in the 100m, placing 4th (12.41) and 5th (12.52) respectively. Chvatal also took 6th in long jump (5.23m).
In distance events, Hannah Butler and Samantha Berndt placed 7th (20:56.07) and 8th (21:02.23) in the 5,000m, while Jolie Jager and Bernadette Frisch earned 7th (13:46.83) and 8th (14:00.46) in the 3,000m steeplechase.
Pearla Teko-Folly jumped to 4th in high jump (1.51m) and finished 5th in triple jump (10.86m), with Rhianna Robinson placing 6th in triple (10.76m).
In the field, Martina McGrath secured 4th in javelin (33.73m), while Kaylie Wiedmeyer and Brooklyn Ludescher placed 7th (12.09m) and 8th (11.82m) in shot put.
The V-Hawks return to action Saturday April 19 at the UW-La Crosse Phil Esten.
