McCabe and Mitchell Named to Players of the Week

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) has officially announced the eighth addition of its Women's Volleyball Players of the Week, and Viterbo's Kenidi McCabe and Jada Mitchell have officially been named Defender and Attacker of the Week. They are joined by Olivet Nazarene's (Ill.) Analiese Fredin as the setter of the week. This is McCabe's sixth time winning the award, her third in the CCAC, while Mitchell has been named three times, this is her first in the CCAC.

McCabe, a Decorah, Iowa native, led the V-Hawks with 51 digs and 32 receptions with two errors (96.23%) as the V-Hawks went 3-0 in in last week's conference play. A setback came for the Indiana Northwest Red Hawks, in which McCabe recorded 20 digs (6.67/set). On the week she also produced four service aces, and nine assists.

Mitchell, a New Albion, Iowa native, dominated with the V-Hawks with 47 kills, recording one error (97.92%). A high for Michell came in their Monday night match against Calumet College (Ind) where she produced a .680 hitting percentage. On the defensive front she recorded eight blocks, two being solo.

McCabe, Mitchell, and the V-Hawks return to action Wednesday October 23 as they host Governors State for Think Pink Night.
