V-Hawks fall in Non-Conference Matchup

COLUMBIA, Missouri -- The V-Hawks traveled to Columbia this weekend to face off in a non-conference match against Columbia College. The V-Hawks fell in the match 3-1, scoring just one goal earlier in the match. The V-Hawks started strong when Jokubas Jancauskas scored early in the match.

Jancauskas' goal, assisted by Alvaro Paquete Olivero, was his ninth of the season. It was the only goal of the day for the V-Hawks. Columbia College responded with a goal of their own eight minutes later to tie the match at 1-1. With 20 seconds left in the first half, Columbia took the 2-1 lead on a last second goal. 

In the second half, the V-Hawks held off Columbia for most of the half, but at 80 minutes, Columbia College scored once again to go up 3-1 late in the game. The V-Hawks fell 3-1.

The V-Hawks will travel to Olivet Nazarene for their next conference match on Wednesday, October 8. The game will kickoff at 7PM.
