V-Hawks fall on the road

BOURBANNAIS, Ill. -- The V-Hawks traveled to Olivet Nazarene on Wednesday night to face off against the Tigers of Olivet Nazarene. After the two 45 minute halves, the V-Hawks lost 5-1, with their single goal coming near the end of the match. The V-Hawks fall to 6-3-2 overall and 3-1 in CCAC play. The Tigers improve to 9-2-1 and 4-0 in conference competition. 

The V-Hawks got down early with Olivet scoring their first goal of the game at just two minutes. The Tigers scored twice more before the half to put the V-Hawks down 3-0 at halftime. In the second half, Olivet scored once again at 64 minutes, but this time Joaquin Eichhorn responded at 72 minutes, unassisted. The Tigers scored one more goal at 78 minutes to complete a 5-1 win over the V-Hawks. 

Despite a 5-1 loss, the V-Hawks took 16 shots, just three less than Olivet's 19. The V-Hawks also had four more corner kick opportunities than Olivet. Defensively, goalkeeper Konstantin Tskhadadze earned three saves on the night.

The V-Hawks will travl to East Chicago to take on Calumet on Saturday, October 11. Kickoff is set for 3pm. The V-Hawks will return home on Saturday, October 18.
