Four V-Hawks Earn All-CCAC Honors, Headlined by Eichhorn
CHICAGO, Illinois – The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced their annual all-conference teams today. The first and second teams are each made up of 15 of the best players in the conference and highlight the athletic achievements of those athletes.
From Viterbo, Sebastian Acosta, Joaquin Eichhorn, and Jokubas Jancauskas were selected as First Team All-Conference recipients. Ted Holstein was selected as a Second Team All-Conference recipient.
In addition to the first and second teams, the conference annually designates a small selection of players as the best in their field. This year, the V-Hawks are honored to announce that Joaquin Eichhorn has been selected as the Offensive Player of the Year in the CCAC.
Joaquin Eichhorn, Sr., First Team All-CCAC, Offensive Player of the Year – Senior Joaquin Eichhorn out of Lima, Peru was an offensive nightmare of conference defenses this season. Throughout the year, Eichhorn added 13 goals and six assists to the V-Hawks campaign, totaling 32 points for the V-Hawks. He played and started in 18 contests for the V-Hawks throughout the season, assisting in propelling the V-Hawks to a second place CCAC finish, the highest since joining the conference. Eichhorn is no stranger to postseason honors, earning Second Team All-CCAC last year.
Sebastian Acosta, Sr., First Team All-CCAC – Senior midfielder Sebastian Acosta of Barranquilla, Colombia was a threat on the attack for the V-Hawks. This season, Acosta earned one goal and added nine assists for a total of 11 points. Acosta's nine assists were the second most by any individual in the conference. He made starts in 12 of the 18 games for the V-Hawks this season. His athletic skill garners him First Team All-CCAC for the first time in his career.
Jokubas Jancauskas, Fr., First Team All-CCAC – Freshman forward Jokubas Jancauskas of Klaipeda, Lithuania brought an instant change for the V-Hawks when he got on campus. Jancauskas earned nine goals and three assists this season, and he did it in only 14 games. Jancauskas suffered a season-ending injury back on October 8th against Olivet Nazarene. Despite the injury, the freshman forward proved his athletic ability, racking up 21 points in 14 games. His achievements earned him First Team All-CCAC recognition.
Ted Holstein, So., Second Team All-CCAC – Sophomore defender Ted Holstein of Stockholm, Sweden was a defensive powerhouse for the V-Hawks this season. Though a defender, Holstein added two goals and an assist to total five points this season. Defensively, Holstein played a part in five shutouts for the V-Hawks this season. Holstein's recognition is the second of his career. Last season, he earned Second Team All-CCAC after a strong freshman campaign.
The V-Hawks finished the season 12-6-2 overall and 7-3 in conference, advancing to the Conference Championship Game for the first time in several years. The V-Hawks finished second in the CCAC.
