V-Hawks Pick Up Another CCAC Win on the Road
LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The V-Hawks claimed another victory in the CCAC on the road Wednesday night. The team traveled to Judson to face off against the Eagles, coming away with a 71-57 victory. With the win, the V-Hawks improve to 11-11 overall and 9-6 in the conference. Judson falls to 7-15 and 4-12 in the CCAC.
Offensively, the V-Hawks were led yet again by Carly Drew. Drew put up 18 points in the victory, going 6-9 from the field. Nora Tucker added 14 points for the V-Hawks and Marley Hughes added 13 points on 5-7 shooting. Defensively, Chloe Auth picked up an impressive six steals on the evening. Kira John led in rebounds with 10. John also added three blocks and two steals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nora Tucker scored first for the V-Hawks
- The V-Hawks jumped to an early 9-4 lead
- A three from Nora Tucker gave the V-Hawks a 14-4 early lead
- Cece Davis capped off the first quarter, putting the V-Hawks up 18-6
- Scoring from Marley Hughes and Carly Drew put the V-Hawks up 23-8 in the second
- The V-Hawks held their lead, going up 31-13 with four minutes in the half
- Shayna Williamson added a final jump shot to put the V-Hawks up 35-21 going into halftime
- Out of the half, Carly Drew scored the first five points for the V-Hawks
- The V-Hawks heldd a 50-32 lead with a Nora Tucker three
- Scoring from Kira John and Carly Drew put the V-Hawks up by 20 points
- The V-Hawks went into the fourth up 57-35
- Scoring from Aubrey Dorn gave the V-Hawks a 67-43 lead
- The Eagles fought back within twenty, but the V-Hawks continued scoring with an Alivia Koltz free throw
- The V-Hawks finished on top 71-57
