HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The V-Hawks got out to a dominant start early on, scoring five of the first seven points. Kills from Izzy Jahr and Jada Mitchell assisted in the early points of the set. Judson attempted to fight back down the line, coming within two points of the V-Hawks at 12-10, but Viterbo rattled off a kill by Izzy Jahr followed by back-to-back-to-back kills from Sadie Treptow to extend the lead. The V-Hawks continued their series of short runs, with several kills by Hailee Halverson and a service ace from Casey Frankland. A kill by Jada Mitchell sealed the first set victory at 25-17.
  • The V-Hawks went down early in the first set 9-5. A kill by Jalen Hinzman and a kill by MaKena Ihle brought the V-Hawks back within two, but Judson continued fighting back. A mid-set 6-1 V-Hawk run shifted the score to favor Viterbo. An ace by Resse Germann forced the Eagles into a timeout. Out of the timeout, Judson took back the lead, but Viterbo responded with a massive 7-0 run marked by two kills from Izzy Jahr and an ace by Jaden Polovina. The V-Hawks won set two 25-19.
  • Set three opened with four unanswered kills in a row from the V-Hawks. The V-Hawks kept and extended their lead early in the set until Judson went on their own 4-0 run. The V-Hawks remained on top, stringing together small runs to extend their lead to 18-14 on a kill from Maddie Connor. Viterbo held their lead over Judson until the end, extending it to eight points.
