V-Hawks sweep Redhawks on Senior Day

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The V-Hawks faced off against the Redhawks this weekend on Saturday for their Senior Day match. The four seniors, Jada Mitchell, Sadie Treptow, Maddie Connor, and Mia Quist, were recognized preceding the match, and the V-Hawks claimed the sweep victory over the Redhawks. 

The V-Hawks were led offensively by Jada Mitchell's nine kills on a 0.643 hitting percentage. On the set, Maddie Connor led the way with 19, breaking the 2500 assists mark. In the back court, Resse Germann picked up 14 digs. At the net, Mia Quist led the way with two blocks. Quist also led behind the service line with four aces. 

HOW IT HAPPENED, 

• In set one, the V-Hawks went up early, scoring the first two points on kills from Mia Quist and Sadie Treptow. The V-Hawks extended their lead when they went on a 6-1 run with kills from Maddie Connor, Jada Mitchell, Sadie Treptow, and Izzy Jahr. The V-Hawks continued to pull away, and they finished the set on a 6-0 run. In that run, Mikaela Marquardt earned an ace, there were kills by Jada Mitchell and MaKena Ihle, as well as a block from the two. The V-Hawks won 25-14 in set one. 
• In set two, Jada Mitchell scored the first point for the V-Hawks on a kill. The V-Hawks went on an early 5-0 run with two kills from Sadie Treptow. A 5-0 run in the middle of the set with kills by Casey Frankland and Resse Germann brought some momentum to the V-Hawks. The V-Hawks didn't look back through the rest of the set, and they finished on a kill from Casey Frankland, assisted by Jaden Polovina, to win 25-17 in the second. 
• Mia Quist scored the first two points for the V-Hawks in the third set on a kill and an ace. The V-Hawks went up quick on kills from Izzy Jahr, Mia Quist, and MaKena Ihle. Into the middle of the set, a kill from Addison Pecha and two kills from Mia Quist brought the V-Hawk a 12-6 lead. Another ace from Mia Quist as well as an ace from Resse Germann continued to extend the V-Hawks lead to 19-8. The V-Hawks finished the third set on kills from Casey Frankland, Mia Quist, and Jada Mitchell, winning 25-15 in the third.
