V-Hawks impress at Oshkosh Open, led by Berndt, Jensen
OSHKOSH, Wis. -- The V-Hawk women took to the course on Friday to face off at the UW-Oshkosh Open. At the end of the race, the V-Hawks finished in third place for team standings, and they finished two funners within the top-15 on the day.
The V-Hawks were led on Friday by Samatha Berndt, who finished in the top-10. Her ninth place finish was earned after a 24:38.55 time, a personal best for the sophomore in the 6k. Close behind Berndt was the freshman Ilie Jensen who ran a 25:13.70 on the day and took a 15th place finish. Next up was senior Hannah Butler with a 25:43.02 and freshman Jill Chovan with a 26:07.42. Casey Reynolds and Lily Peterson Finished in 35th and 36th place, respectively, rounding out the last two point-scoring runners of the day.
Lydia Zapuchlak, Bernadette Frisch, Kaitlyn Wrage, Julie Woodman, and Olivia Cox all were also racing at the event.
