LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The V-Hawks had their third CCAC match this Tuesday at home. In the match, they competed against the Indiana Northwest RedHawks. The V-Hawks shutout the RedHawks in a 4-0 victory, improving to a 6-1-2 record and a 3-0 conference record. The RedHawks fall to 1-9-1 and 0-2-1 in CCAC play.
Throughout the game, each team took fourteen shots, but the V-Hawks landed eight of them on goal compared to the RedHawks' five. The V-Hawks scored on four of their eight opportunities. Four different players scored in yesterday's contest. Defensively, Peter Kolenyo has an impressive five saves against the RedHawks to complete the shutout.
VHAWK SCORING
- 36' - Freshman Jokubas Jancauskas got an open look at the goal, scoring the first of the day for the V-Hawks, assisted by Sebastian Acosta.
- 48' - Sebastian Acosta scored the first goal of the second half for the V-Hawks, bringing the score to 2-0.
- 73' - The third goal of the day was scored by Andrii Ketsuk when he got an open moment.
- 77' - Just minutes later, Ronmel Alfaro scored the final goal of the day to the V-Hawks, securing a 4-0 victory.
