V-Hawks shutout Calumet on the road, Hamnstrom with Hat Trick

EAST CHICAGO, Ind. -- The V-Hawks shutout the Crimson Wave of Calumet this weekend while on the road. The 5-0 V-Hawk victory improves their record to 7-3-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play. The Crimson Wave fall to 0-13 overall and 0-6 in conference. 

Throughout the game, the V-Hawks scored five goals from three separate people. Johan Hamnstrom earned a hat trick in the match with his three goals. The V-Hawks took 25 shots during the match, while Calumet took zero. The V-Hawks also took nine corner kicks to Calumet's zero. 

V-HAWK SCORING

  • 13' - Joaquin Eichhorn scored the first goal of the day for the V-Hawks. This goal was his seventh of the season. 
  • 38' - Johan Hamnstrom earned his first goal of the day and the first of his season, the second for the V-Hawks. 
  • 43' - Just five minutes later, Johan Hamnstrom got the ball again for his second goal of the day, the third for the V-Hawks. 
  • 52' - Out of halftime, Hamnstrom scored once again to complete the hat trick, scoring the fourth goal of the day for the V-Hawks.
  • 66' - The final goal of the day for the V-Hawks came from Alvaro Paquete Oliveira. His goal was the first of his career.

The V-Hawks will return home on Saturday, October 18 to face off against Holy Cross at noon. The V-Hawks will celebrate their senior day at the conclusion of their Saturday match.
