V-Hawks Add Conference Win Over Trolls

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The V-Hawks picked up another victory on Saturday when they faced off against the Trolls of Trinity Christian. The V-Hawks defeated the Trolls 4-1, improving to a 5-1 record (4-0 CCAC). The Trolls fall to 3-6 (1-3 CCAC). 

The V-Hawks scored early in the match, earning two goals within the first five minutes of the game. They added a third goal just before the 10 minute mark. All of the scoring from the V-Hawks came in the first half of the match. The Trolls solo score was in a penalty kick. The V-Hawks took 10 shots to the Trolls' six. Eight of the V-Hawks 10 were on goal, and four of them found the back of the neck. Defensively, freshman goalkeeper Erin Brooks earned two saves. 

V-HAWK SCORING

• 2' - Paxten Bristol earned the first goal of the day for the V-Hawks when she got a ball in from Brynlee Kelly. This was the freshman's fifth goal of the season. 
• 5' - Three minutes later, freshman Brynlee Kelly decided it was her turn to score. She earned the second goal of the day for the V-Hawks unassisted, the seventh of her season. 
• 9' - Seven minutes after her first goal, Paxten Bristol got a hold of the ball again, this time on an assist from Kelcie Karweick, and scored the third goal of the day for the V-Hawks, earning the sixth of her season. 
• 40' - Shortly before the half, Evelyn Shaw got an open look at the goal, breaking away from the defenders. She earned the fourt of the day for the V-Hawks and the third of her season. 

UP NEXT 

The V-Hawks will hit the road this week. On Wednesday, October 1, they will face off against the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees. Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm.
